How to Get Started
Contact your local YMCA branch to schedule an appointment .
At this appointment you will fill out a medical questionnaire Your coach will help you
set up a program that meets your needs.

Program Details
The First Steps Program utilizes our MicroFit fitness assessment software to analyze and track lifestyle behaviors in the areas of exercise, nutrition, alcohol consumption, smoking, safety and stress.
  
First Appointment

Your first appointment will include a wellness assessment, cardiovascular exercise: walking, jogging and/or bicycling.
You will track your workouts.
 
Second Appointment
Your coach will add strength machines to your workout. You will also do your Fitness assessment.
 
Third Appointment
You and your coach will complete a Nutrition Profile. After you are done we will get a nutrition plan and a grocery list.
Workouts will intensify at a pace that is right for you, either by increasing cardio exercise or adding weights to your workout. 

 
Now You Are On Your Way
At the end of your program you will meet with your coach to discuss your program, personal taining options celebrate your success and see  what else the YMCA can offer you to help you contiue on your journey to total health. Maybe you will want to join a fitness class or try a new workout routine. Our YMCA staff will be there to help you create a continued workout plan for a strong and healthy future.
