Living healthy is about spirit, mind and body at every age and stage. The YMCA of South Alabama offer classes and support programs for those dealing with chronic disease, joint and injury rehabilitation, stress and pregnancy, in addition to health assessments and wellness coaching.
Group Exercise classes, offered six days a week, are included in your YMCA membership. The Y welcomes all fitness levels to attend a variety of classes. Highly trained, certified instructors will lead you through well-planned workouts designed to strengthen member connection and overall healthy living. Currently, the YMCA offers four Les Mills programs, including: BodyCombat, BodyPump, BodyStep and RPM. Ballet barre workouts, various genres of yoga, Pilates, rowing and aqua fitness are also included in our array of group fitness classes.

Personal training is a great way to begin a fitness program or simply get you over an exercise plateau. Personal trainers offer guidance, direction, motivation AND a workout designed especially for you! Working with one of our certified personal trainers will give you the tools you need to reach your health and wellness goals.
What would the Y be without water? Water exercise, adult swim lessons (it’s NEVER too late) and adapted exercise for those with disabilities or in rehabilitation are some of the water-based activities you’ll find at the Y where we believe if you can do it on land, you can do some version of it in the water!
