Volunteers Are TeachersKids need grown-ups who are deeply engaged in their healthy development; adults who help them think through the possible consequences of their decisions; grown-ups who practice respect, responsibility, caring and honesty.
Volunteers Play Well, Live Well
Kids need to play. It stimulates the spirit, mind and body. It makes exercising fun. They also need to see adults being active because kids learn by observing adults. Every day Y members, by living a healthy lifestyle, serve as role models.
Volunteers Care and Share
Kids need to be part of a caring, sharing, family. Parents rely on the Y for high- quality child care, programs and facilities. All of these help strengthen the entire family and community.
Volunteers Serve Others
Volunteers ensure that each child and family, regardless of their circumstances or ability to pay, can be part of the Y. They give their time and skills as basketball coaches, serve on a committee or board and inspire young people to strive for more. Volunteers know that even small gestures can change lives and that it’s up to each of us to be the hero kids need.
Volunteer with the Y today and make a difference in a child's life! Contact your local branch for more information.
