What is the Strong Kids Campaign?
Our Strong Kids campaign is the YMCA of South Alabama's annual fund-raising campaign. Gifts made to the Strong Kids campaign are the primary source of funding for membership assistance and program support. The Y's goal is to provide services to all community members, regardless of their ability to pay.
The Strong Kids campaign raised more than $213,000 with the help of more than 100 volunteers. Every dollar raised is used to provide assistance within our local communities. In the last year, the YMCA of South Alabama touched the lives of more than 20,000 people in our community.
This year, the YMCA hopes provide $270,000 in financial scholarships for membership, child care, and youth sports to those who otherwise would not be able to participate.
Your donation to Strong Kids is tax-deductible. Contributions can be made in cash, check, stock, Visa or MasterCard. Pledges are welcome. A payment schedule can be tailored to fit your desires. We can send you a monthly, quarterly or semi-annual statement, or schedule one full payment or you can donate now and start helping to build a stronger community right away.

$10/month Builds self-confidence by providing swim lessons and safety programs for two children in our community.
$25/month Makes it possible for one child to attend summer camp, with life-enriching activities such as canoeing, arts and crafts and a variety of other field trips introducing them to new experiences.
$50/month Allows one team of kids to learn skills, sportsmanship and teamwork through participation in Y youth sports or can allow one senior adult living on a fixed income access to the Y.
$100/month Enables two children to attend a YMCA after-school program for a year, a chance to make new friends and strengthen values.
$250/month Helps create a unique, caring place where adults with special needs can expand their horizons and develop friendships through our Special Populations program, or can provide a year of training to 10 youth who are struggling with obesity, helping them to make healthier food choices and stay active.
Your gift brings Y programs to more kids and families through the launching of new Y and community initiatives like last year’s Busy Town and Y Zone projects, by providing financial assistance for Memberships, After-school Care, Summer Day Camp, Swim Lessons, Sports Programs and supporting all the branches in the Association.

Special Banner Recognition
As a special “Thank You”, all contributions of $1,000 or more will include a specially designed banner displayed proudly at the Y branch of the donor’s choice. A $5,000 contribution includes a banner in each of our five branches. The donor’s name or business logo will be displayed along with one of the four value slogans. Donors also receive a special memento and will receive Y progress updates throughout the year.
