Our
Strong Kids, Kids Need Heroes campaign is the YMCA of South Alabama's
annual fund raising campaign. Gifts made to the Strong Kids campaign are
the primary source of funding for membership assistance and program
support. The YMCA's goal is to provide services to all community
members, regardless of their ability to pay.
In 2009, the Kids Need Heroes campaign
raised more than $270,000 with the help of more than
150 volunteers. Every dollar raised is used to provide assistance within
our local communities.
In the last year the YMCA of South
Alabama touched the lives of over 20,000 people in our community. This
year, the YMCA hopes provide $350,000 in financial scholarships for
membership, child care, and youth sports to those who otherwise would
not be able to participate.
100% of your donation goes directly to the
campaign and the programs it supports. No administration fees are
deducted. Your donation to Kids Need Heroes Campaign is tax-deductible.
Contributions can be made in cash, check, stock, Visa or MasterCard.
Pledges are welcome. A payment schedule can be tailored to fit your
desires. We can send you a monthly, quarterly or semi-annual statement,
or schedule one full payment.

Your
gift brings YMCA programs to more kids and families through the
launching of new YMCA and community initiatives like last year’s Busy
Town and Y Zone projects, by providing financial assistance for
Memberships, Afterschool Care, Summer Day Camp, Swim Lessons, Sports
Programs and supporting all the branches in the Association.

Banner Recognition
As a special
“Thank You”, all contributions of $1,000 or more will include a
specially designed banner displayed proudly at the YMCA branch of the
donor’s choice. A $5,000 contribution includes a banner in each of the
five branches. The donor’s name or business logo will be displayed
along with one of the four value slogans. Donors also receive a special
memento and will receive YMCA progress updates throughout the year.
